Grandma's fabulous asparagus salad

1 package of white asparagus (ca. 500g)
2 hardboiled eggs
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup fresh chopped parsley
3 tablespoons fresh chopped chives
salt and pepper to taste

Cook the asparagus and cut it in about 2cm long pieces
Chop the hardboiled eggs in dices and add to the asparagus, add all other ingredients, stir and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Find some good bread to eat this with and enjoy!

On Food

What kind of food do you eat?
Where do you go grocery shopping?
How do you pay for your food?
If you were a hunter-gatherer in the city, how would you go about getting your food?
Do you believe the statement "you are what you eat"?
Have you ever picked your food off a tree/a bush/...?
How does that feel?
What do you think about processed food?

Questions a film student making a documentary about food randomly asked me. Funny because it was exactly those questions I had discussed with people so many times before...

PhD - not for me...

At least not this fall I guess... Was quite sad to get all those rejection letters. Especially because I could have done the alumni role with AIESEC. Now I'm doing something I like, but not love near as much as I love AIESEC. The good thing about it is, I'm working in an office here in Boston. No long distance relationship anymore. But I do miss AIESEC and all the people in the New York office.

Oh well, maybe I'll get accepted next year...
One more reason to go explore St. Patrick's day here in Boston tonight. Should be a lot of fun! Happy St. Patrick's day everyone!

The new gold rush

I had no clue! Never thought about domain names and their parking as a business model that can literally make you tons of money. I've learned so much last week, it's incredible. My impression is that this whole industry is still at the very beginning. Be smart about your domain portfolio today and you can make tons of money of it in the future.

What a strange week!!!

Good and bad things happened, it was a short week, and still felt so different from all the previous ones since I left AIESEC in April last year.

I finally found a job and started working at sedo.com, a German ecommerce company, on Tuesday. Such a different feeling to get up in the morning at regular hours and spend the whole day at work, no more getting up at 10, checking my email, sending out resumes, going to interviews.... Besides of the sleeping in, I really don't miss that!!!

Started the week in New York cause two friends of mine from High school came to town. They absolutely wanted to go, even for a short Sunday/Monday trip, so we went. I'm always up for a trip to my favorite city in the world. Spent Monday with nice breakfast at Joe Jr's, coffee with Jen, shopping at H&M, a firehouse role at togi, a Koelsch at the Loreley and back to Boston with the Chinatown bus. I guess I could have gone sightseeing with them, maybe they thought it's weird I didn't.... But I really didn't feel like WTC, Times Square, Central Park and all that outdoors stuff on a freezing winter day! Strange to see how the people you once were very close with are quite different now. I realized I'm annoyed if someone says things like "why go to this party/bar/..., I don't know the people there!", in my mind it's "I want to go to places I've never been before!" It's sad to realize that you don't relate with someone the way you used to relate. We've all moved on I guess...

But it finally feels like having a life again! It all worked out, the visa thing, getting the work permit, getting my driver's license, finding a job, getting decent health benefits... I'm happy! :-)
