Sophie's world

A novel about the history of philosophy. Some books are just amazing! I'm reading this one for the 4th time now. First time when I was 18, then at 20, 23 and now. Every time I find new inspiration in it. It is just a completely amazing book. It makes more and more sense the more you've read and learned and experienced.

Goethe put it this way: "Wer nicht von 3000 Jahren sich weiß Rechenschaft zu geben bleib im Dunkeln unerfahren mag von Tag zu Tage leben!" literally "Who doesn't know what happened in the last 3000 years, will live in darkness and just from day to day" - meaning, only if you know where you come from, you'll have the strength to design your future.
